The US Open is the third of four major championships in golf. The tournament is traditionally held in June and sees the best in the sport hit the green. Read on for all you need to know about the 2022 US Open.

The US Open begins June 16 and lasts until the 19. It is a 72-hole stroke play tournament.

In 2022, the tournament will be held at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts which is just outside of Boston.

2. The Best Way To Get To The US Open

Save time and money by leaving your car at home when you travel to the US Open.

The most convenient way to get to the US Open is to use the MBTA (“T”).

The MBTA is offering complimentary parking for U.S. Open fans at over 100 MBTA stations. It is recommended to park at one of the listed facilities and then take the Subway, Commuter Rail, or Bus lines to the tournament.

3. There Are Prohibited Items At The US Open

Leave your backpacks, cameras, and selfie sticks at home! They’re on the list of prohibited items at the US Open.

If you want photos or videos of the tournament, you’ll have to use your phone.

Also on the list of prohibited items are signs and food.

4. Tiger Woods’ US Open 2022 Status

Tiger Woods didn’t play in the 2021 US Open due to suffering injuries in a car crash.

He hasn’t indicated whether or not he’ll be playing in the 2022 US Open, but he did register to play in the tournament.

Woods did say he will only play in the big events and has been practicing, so seems likely that he’ll play in the US Open.

5. Who Will Be Playing In The 2022 US Open?

Ordinarily, there are 156 players who compete in the US Open. Some names who will be playing in the 2022 US Open are Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, and Brooks Koepka.

6. The Prize For The 2022 US Open

Competitors in the US Open tournament are going after a hefty prize. The 2021 Open Championship purse sat at a total of $11.5 million, while the U.S. Open purse is valued at $12.5 million total. In 2021, the champion collected $2.25 million.
