If you think you need to visit France to frolic in lavender fields, you’re sadly mistaken. Ontario is home to some beautiful lavender fields worth visiting. The best time to see fields in full bloom is mid-June to mid-July.
Purple Hill Lavender Farm
Purple Hill Lavender Farm is about two hours away from Toronto, but it is definitely worth the drive. There are 50 acres of rolling hills, where you can breathe in the fragrant lavender and take in the views of a scenic pond. You can even bring a picnic to enjoy on the farm.
Terre Bleu Lavender Farm
Located in Milton, Terre Bleu is Ontario’s largest lavender farm. You might recognize its iconic yellow door from Instagram photos.
Terre Bleu also offers lavender ice cream and different events, such as sunset picnics and yoga in the fields.
Bonnieheath Estate Lavender & Winery
Wine and lavender in one location? Sign us up!
Bonnieheath Estate Lavender is located in Norfolk County and has both a lavender field and winery on site. They even sell wine infused with lavender!
Apple Hill Lavender
Located just two hours away from Toronto, Apple Hill Lavender is a must-visit spot. You can stroll through rows of lavender while eating vanilla bean ice cream with a hint of lavender. This summer, they are also hosting fun yoga events in the lavender field. Imagine how relaxing that would be!
Laveanne Lavender Farn
Laveanne is unique because it has a reflection labyrinth where you can take a relaxing stroll. Don’t worry about getting lost—both sides of the maze are exactly the same, so you can make it to the middle no matter which direction you take.
You may not have heard of Hereward Farms and that’s because it only opened its lavender fields in 2022 to the public.
The farm will offer a pick-your-own event and other unique events, such as Nibbles + Sips, where you can enjoy charcuterie and wine in the purple fields. There will also be a lavender festival on August 13, with local vendors.
